Having worked in local and state government since 1998, Sammy previously held the position of Assistant City Manager for Rome Georgia, Assistant County Manager for Floyd County, County Planner for Carroll County, and Urban Planning Engineer for the Georgia Department of Transportation.
Sammy is an ICMA Credentialed Manager and holds both a B.S. in Geography and Planning and a Master of Public Administration Degree from the University of West Georgia.
Additionally, Sammy is involved in numerous professional organizations, including the Georgia City-County Manager's Association and the International City-County Management Association.
