Rome Transit Department
Overview

On October 1, 1961, Rome established a City department to take over the bus operation from the Georgia Power Co. The power company gave the City all of its buses, plus any spare parts and equipment on hand. In addition, Georgia Power paid the City $300,000. The City agreed to use the money for the transportation system only.

Our services include:

  • Public Transportation within the city limits of Rome, GA
  • Paratransit transporatation - Door-to-door for the eldery and disabled
  • Tripper transportation - Contract with Rome City Schools to transport students to school AM and PM- Tripper Bus Route Schedules on line- Effective August 8, 2008-
  • Go to Routes in the upper left corner and scroll down to Tripper Bus Ride Guide to get access to all Tripper Routes- 1-21.
