Our Mission

The City of Rome Human Resources and Risk Management Department is committed to providing quality professional services with integrity, objectivity, responsiveness, sensitivity, and confidentiality to all employees, as well as the public. Our Human Resources staff is an essential and effective partner in developing and executing the City's organizational strategy as it relates to the most expensive asset of the City, its employees. Department Overview

The City of Rome Human Resources and Risk Management Department is an in-house service department that provides administrative support to the city manager, management staff, employees and the general public. The department is under the direction of Kristy Shepard, Human Resources Director, and is responsible for the day-to-day activities of Human Resources and Risk Management Administration to include:

E-Verify

The City of Rome is a registered participant in the federal work authorization program commonly known as E-verify, and uses such program to verify employment eligibility of all employees hired on or after July 1, 2007.

E-Verify is a web-based system that allows enrolled employers to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States. E-Verify employers verify the identity and employment eligibility of newly hired employees by electronically matching information provided by employees on the Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification, against records available to the Social Security Administration (SSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Transparency in Coverage

This link leads to the machine readable files that are made available in response to the federal Transparency in Coverage Rule and includes negotiated service rates and out-of-network allowed- amounts between health plans and healthcare providers. The machine-readable files are formatted to allow researchers, regulators, and application developers to more easily access and analyze data.
