Biography

Victor “Vic” Hixon is a lifelong resident of Rome and serves as City Commissioner for Ward 2. He graduated from Darlington High School and earned his degree from Shorter College after attending Clark Atlanta University.

For more than 18 years, Commissioner Hixon has owned and operated Autolink Detail Shop, giving him firsthand experience with the needs of local businesses. He also works as an educator at Main Elementary School in the Rome City Schools system, reflecting his commitment to youth and education.

An active member and deacon at Mount Tabor Baptist Church, Commissioner Hixon is deeply rooted in community service. He has also contributed to Rome’s cultural life through his involvement with the Rome Little Theater.

In addition to his role on the City Commission, Hixon serves on the Rome-Floyd County Planning Commission, the Rome-Floyd County Library Board, and the Alcohol Control Commission. His priorities include supporting small businesses, enhancing public safety, expanding youth programs, and promoting affordable housing.
